KIWANIS CHERRY PARK
Over the years all the owners of CWG Architects have served Helena through clubs – this is no less true today. It’s the reason I joined the Helena Kiwanis; it’s not just about what we do to earn a living but how we give back.
More specifically, our mission at the Kiwanis Club is to improve the world one child and one community at a time. That means developing and maintaining programs that support and encourage the children. Beyond that we wanted to develop a lasting legacy to the community. In the end it was the local parks that came to the top as the best avenue to make a real impact; an impact that provides permanent structures to help with childhood development.
Developing parks fit well with my architectural skills as the overall process has certain parallels. You must develop a trustworthy team, identify key action items, refine a plan of action, complete fundraising and construct the finished product. There’s a lot of players!
Our first project is the all-inclusive equipment and pour-in-place surfacing at Helena’s Cherry Park. We’re now on our last step – the equipment was installed September 15th and the pour-in-place was done September 26th. It’s only days away from our grand opening on October 11th.
Thank you from CWG Architects and the Helena Kiwanis Club to EVERYONE who made this possible, but especially all the team members and community businesses and philanthropist below – Together we are creating a lasting legacy for Helena, MT!
