Located on the second level of our CWG office building, the project was an interior remodel of the 1,100-square-foot apartment originally built in the early 1900s. The Mansion District Hideaway is designed to be a long-term rental and includes a variety of amenities. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and can sleep up to 7 people with trundle and pull-out bed options.
This apartment features original, restored hardwood floors. The kitchen is the biggest change and least costly renovation of the project. We kept the existing lower cabinets, and added paint and hardware to give them new life. Custom, open shelving makes the space feel much larger and open. By utilizing the existing appliances, the only new appliance needed was the refrigerator which fit the design seamlessly. Installing a “faux” chimney hood over the stove gives the kitchen a more elegant look. By relocating the original refrigerator and taking out a breakfast nook, we were able to create a coffee bar and a beautiful walk-in pantry. These small rearrangements contributed to a functional, gorgeous kitchen. Adding a counter-to-ceiling tile backsplash provided that finishing touch.
Both bedrooms were refinished, painted, styled, and furnished to continue the mid-century design. Both baths were remodeled with new sinks, faucets, floors, and toilets.
The general contractor used was Old Stage Construction – Theo Campe. Theo did a great job and hired the very best of Helena. Ashley Furniture of Helena was used to source nearly 90% of the furniture and decor.
