Q & A with Kory Kennaugh

What made you interested in architecture?

I was always interested in art, then in middle school shop class I discovered that I really liked technical drafting. In High School my drafting teacher encouraged me to take architectural drafting class which led me down this career path.

Favorite part of your job?

The satisfaction of seeing a project evolve from a design on paper to a constructed building.

Where do you get your design inspiration?

For me, design inspiration doesn’t come from a singular source. It could come from the project site, an Owner’s goals, a colleague’s ideas or a moment of inspiration while taking the dogs on their morning walk.

What was your first job?

My first job was sweeping floors and washing cars at my dad’s auto body shop.

What do you do in your spare time?

My wife and I enjoy exploring Montana by camping or staying at Forest Service cabins.
